Corrections Policy
Effective 2026-10-03 · Last updated 2026-10-03
Our correction standard
The Hall is a living historical publication. We aim to distinguish documented fact, contributor recollection, editorial analysis, disputed history and uncertainty. When a material factual error is established, we may correct the text and preserve a revision record rather than silently rewriting history.
What to report
Use the Legal & Content Notice form to report factual errors, mistaken identity, misattributed quotations, incorrect dates or venues, privacy concerns, rights issues, broken sources or other material problems. Include the exact URL, the disputed passage, the correction you believe is supported, and reliable documentation where available.
What happens next
We may review the submission, source material, revision history and other evidence; contact relevant people; add a note; correct or update the story; clarify disputed accounts; temporarily restrict access; preserve the original for audit purposes; or take no change where the evidence does not support one.
No automatic takedown
A person’s disagreement with a story, criticism or historical interpretation does not by itself require removal. Requests involving copyright are handled under the Copyright / DMCA Policy. Requests involving serious privacy, safety or unlawful content may receive expedited review.
Corrections, updates and archival integrity
Minor typographical fixes may be made without a prominent note. Material factual corrections should ordinarily be reflected in revision history or an editorial/update note when doing so serves readers. Historical source conflicts may be presented as conflicts rather than forced into a single definitive account.
